“I will never ask you to do something that I would not be willing to do myself”.
Between preparing wine, steps of service, and beyond… if a napkin needed to be folded or a floor needed to be swept, Timothy Gallant would gladly assist without any hesitation. That, in my opinion, is what embodies a fantastic leader that is looked up to and respected. I started at Oak Hill Country Club in 2016 as a Snack Bar Server. Come Rochester wintertime, I applied for a position as a Hostess in the Grill Room. I personally do not come from a food and beverage background, but Timothy was eager to teach this Media and Communication grad all the ropes to the hospitality industry. Needless to say, Timothy and I have been friends ever since. Today, I am Oak Hill’s Membership and Communications Manager which would not have been possible if Timothy had not pushed me to be my absolute best and to reach for what I wanted. “Everything at Oak Hill has to be the best, and if it isn’t…we will improve upon it every year until it is”. In 2018, Timothy won the “Motto Award”, which “is given to the employee who used creativity to develop new or improved processes, systems, products, or services and encouraged others to do the same. This award is given to the individual who made innovation a priority and as a result improved the Club and made Oak Hill a better place to play and work.” I had always admired Timothy when it came to fine dining events. No ask was too big or small, he made it happen with a Timothy twist. I would highly recommend Timothy Gallant as he is reliable, accountable, professional, and a great leader you want on your team.
